I got my first blog comments this week and thought I'd respond.
Palmdale Voter (161.149.63.100) took issue with my interpretation of Mayor Ledford's response, wondering where he says that the Palmdale dump must expand to take the City's trash. While he didn't say that specifically, I can put two and two together. He does say that, "The current landfill is expected to reach capacity in approximately two years." If L.A. is going to send its trash here starting in June
2006, then we're going to have to expand the dump in order to take their trash, right? Or am I missing something?1?
He (or she?) also asks, "Perhaps you should lobby your own councilmembers down there in LA and tell them to keep their own trash." That's a great idea! Why don't you join me and we can all go down to the City Council in Los Angeles when they decide to hold a hearing on the issue! According to today's paper, it looks like Public Works will have something coming up in about a month.
